Date Night

I bought a Groupon for 3 courses and a glass of bubbly at a restaurant in Lund for two people. It really is the only way you can afford to go out here. Except for dinner at friends and pizza, this is only the second time Chris and I have been out for dinner. We started the evening early with a trip into town for some shopping. Not to buy anything specific, but there are a lot of cute little shops and we never go shopping, so we thought it was a good time to check them out.

Unfortunately, the downside to living in a more socialistic state than a capitalistic state is that people aren't forced to work on weekend evenings. Ok, that's not so unfortunate as an employee, but for shopping at 4:00 on Saturday it's no good at all. Since we were in town two hours early, we still walked around and did some window shopping. That was just as good, and probably a lot better for our wallets!

We ran into a rally of some sort. Even though we knew what the words said on the wagon, they didn't quite go together to make much sense, so we have no idea what the cause was. There were a lot of dready hippies, so must have been about freeing someone from some oppression.

Dinner was in a place we had seen when we came for the interview. We didn't realize there was a restaurant in there, but we at least recognized the venue.

Since we were in town so early, we went in for a drink before dinner. The lounge area was quite cozy.

They offered to seat us early and we said ok! The dinning room was fairly empty when we got there, but by the time we left it was full. The Groupon included a glass of bubbly. You could hear corks popping around the room, and see that a lot of people had come in with the Groupon.
To start we had lobster bisque, the main was beef Wellington with a bit of ham, and dessert was chocolate creme brûlée. While dessert was on its way, we checked out the bus schedule. We decided if we hurried we could catch the next bus. So we scarfed down the brûlée and took off running for the stop. We made it and were home in time to catch a movie!
