Moving already?

Chris and I have barely been here 9 months and we decided to move, down the block that is. Friends we made in the neighborhood are moving to Germany for three years and they didn't want to sell their Swedish house.  So who better to rent it to than two people they already knew. It works out great for us because the rent is cheaper and the house is better.

It occurred to me that we never posted any pictures of the house that welcomed us to Sweden. So now that we are leaving, here's a little tour.

This is Lorenz Nils Väg 6. It sits on a corner. To the left of this picture there is a parking lot that sits behind the house. Across the street to the right is Burt and Kerstin's house. It's their daughter Christine's house that we are moving to. It's hard to tell from this picture, but there's quite a lot going on in the garden. There were raspberries, currents, an apple tree, a nice lavender patch, and various other bushes and plants.  Here are some pictures from the spring.

This is how it looks coming in the front door.

Obviously we've already started the move in these pictures. To the right is the kitchen,

That's the front door open in the door across the way.

To the left of the front door down the long hallway is a bedroom, a bathroom, a bedroom, a bathroom, and the door straight down the hall is another bedroom.

The bedrooms in this house have built in drawers in the closets. Closets aren't exactly the same here as they are in the US. Typically rooms don't have built in closets here. Instead you make a run to your local Ikea and buy wardrobes, like we used to have in the US.

The full bath was quite nice with heated floors and heated towel rack.

The second door to the right was the living room and it made an L to include the dining room on the other side from the kitchen.

To the left of the fireplace is a sunroom. We LOVED the sunroom, as did the kids.

And here's our room.

The backyard was nice, and we were able to really enjoy it this summer, at least the kids were willing to brave the cold water.
